We haven't made it in for a visit yet, so this one's built from what fellow diners and locals are saying — we'll update it with our own take once we've pulled up a chair.

The Grand Restaurant & Lounge is the all-day room at the Davenport Grand on Spokane Falls Boulevard, across from the First Interstate Center for the Arts. The hotel bills it as the home of Spokane's best power breakfasts, and the menu is American classics — a Grand Madame with ham, a sunny egg, and Cougar Gold mornay on brioche in the morning, then a Wagyu burger, a pub steak, a roasted half chicken, grilled salmon, and a 14-ounce ribeye later in the day.

The bar keeps going long after the kitchen slows down — until midnight Sunday through Thursday and 1 a.m. on weekends — which makes it an easy call before or after a show across the street. If you're after a destination dinner at the Grand, that's Lilac & Pine, the hotel's newer room; this is the one for a breakfast meeting or a drink after work, and that's a job worth doing well.
