We haven't made it in for a visit yet, so this one's built from what fellow diners and locals are saying — we'll update it with our own take once we've pulled up a chair.

House of Brunch brings a genuinely elevated approach to the midday meal downtown, from owners with a private-club hospitality background — the French omelette (with flat iron steak or wild mushrooms), lump blue crab cakes, and lox avocado toast are artfully plated enough that reviewers call it "almost too pretty to eat." Owner Jackson Connery, a certified sommelier, curated a genuinely serious sparkling wine list to go with it, and the bright, airy space fills up fast enough that reservations are worth making.

Portion size and price value are the most repeated critiques, and a dish or two has landed inconsistently on different visits — plus takeout doesn't always travel as well as dining in. In person, though, feedback is overwhelmingly excellent, and this remains one of downtown's standout brunch destinations.
