It may not be in Spokane, but it's so good and such a classic that I felt like we had to put it on the map. Keep in mind it's small and the wait can mount, so better to be early.
Hudson's has been on Sherman Avenue in downtown Coeur d'Alene since 1907, which makes it older than most things in the Inland Northwest. The menu is about as short as a menu gets — burgers, cheese, pickles, and their own mustard — and the room is a counter with stools and not much else. It has never needed to be more than that.
The size really is the whole caveat. There are only so many seats, there's no reservation to make, and a summer afternoon in downtown Coeur d'Alene will cost you a wait. Get there early or late, and it's one of the best burgers in the region.
