A platter of glazed wings with scallions and sesame at Kindred Public House

We haven't made it in for a visit yet, so this one's built from what fellow diners and locals are saying — we'll update it with our own take once we've pulled up a chair.

Kindred Public House sits in Spokane's North Monroe Business District, and it has a clear point of view — creative comfort food, handcrafted cocktails, and a room people describe as warm and genuinely community-minded rather than styled to look that way. The wings and the sandwiches are what come up most, and the kitchen puts real thought into vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options instead of treating them as an afterthought.

It's our Best New Restaurant pick, and the early word is consistent: people like the food, and they like the feel of the place. We haven't been in ourselves yet, though, so we can't tell you how it runs on a busy Friday — that's the part we'd want to see before saying more.
