Ladder Coffee Roasters - Monroe

The Monroe shop is the mothership. It opened as Vessel Coffee Roasters in 2016, and when Ladder acquired it in late 2020, Vessel's owner put it plainly — there was no one else in Spokane's coffee industry he'd trust to lead what they'd built. Today it's Ladder's headquarters in every sense: the roasting and product development happen right here on a five-kilo roaster, there's a training lab in back, and the sprawling single-story room on North Monroe gives it the most elbow room of the three locations.

Regulars describe it the way you'd hope for a roastery's home base — cozy, unhurried, and one of the better rooms in town to camp out with a laptop, with the house single-origins and the toast menu doing the heavy lifting. Two practical notes: like its siblings, the prices run a notch high for some visitors, and peak hours bring real waits — though it's the only Ladder that stays open until 4, buying you an extra afternoon hour the other two don't offer.
