Foodie Review
Le Verre
Downtown Spokane · Wine & Cocktail Bar, Est. 2024
We haven't made it in for a visit yet, so this one's built from what fellow diners and locals are saying — we'll update it with our own take once we've pulled up a chair.
Le Verre opened in 2024 in a Bennett Block storefront with a story behind the bar: father-daughter owners Joe Ruddach and Jessica Moseley ran The Wet Whistle coffee shop in this exact space before reinventing it as an Old-Hollywood wine and cocktail lounge — vintage chandeliers, murals of Sinatra and Bing Crosby, live music some nights, and a stretch of Spokane's historic underground tunnels still visible in the basement. The bar's calling card is the self-serve Enomatic wine wall, billed as the first in the city, which lets you pour your own one-, three-, or five-ounce tastes and wander the list instead of committing to a glass. Regulars talk most about the espresso martinis, made with Idaho's DOMA coffee and available as a flight, alongside cocktails with names like Ol' Blue Eyes and Rosie the Riveter, a Sinatra flatbread with prosciutto and fig jam, and charcuterie built on Wanderlust Delicato cheeses.
Early word is strong — cozy, moody, and made for a date night — with two things worth knowing before you go. The kitchen is small bites and flatbreads, not dinner, so eat first or plan on grazing; and it keeps limited hours, Wednesday through Saturday evenings, with reviewers noting it sometimes closes earlier than posted. Check before you drive down. For a slow pour in a room that's trying harder than most, this one looks like a keeper.
