We haven't made it in for a visit yet, so this one's built from what fellow diners and locals are saying — we'll update it with our own take once we've pulled up a chair.

Luna has been South Hill's fine-dining landmark for over three decades, and it's still the benchmark other Spokane restaurants get measured against — a farm-to-table menu built around seared scallops, duck with kumquat marmalade, and sea bass, served in an airy, light-filled room with one of the most romantic patios in the city. Longtime regulars remain fiercely loyal, and it's easy to see why once you've had a meal here.

Value has become the more recent sticking point — portion size and pricing, including an added service charge, haven't always felt justified to reviewers given the reputation, and a handful of serious complaints about specific bad experiences sit alongside decades of loyalty. The range of experience here varies more than some newer spots, so it's worth going in with reasonable expectations for a splurge night — but for a true special occasion, Luna still delivers.
