An incredibly broad menu and price range make it one of the Valley's higher-end choices. I love sitting at the bar rail and watching the action.

MAX at Mirabeau has spent over two decades quietly defying "hotel restaurant" expectations, serving genuinely serious bistro cuisine inside the Mirabeau Park Hotel — clam chowder, seared tuna, and beef tenderloin tips are the dishes locals and travelers alike keep coming back for, alongside a well-loved breakfast buffet and dessert case. It's become a real destination in its own right rather than an afterthought for hotel guests.

Noise in the open dining room and portion size not always matching price are the more common critiques, and at least one review described a serious service miss with an undercooked burger. The buffet breakfast has also been called a step down from the à la carte dinner menu. Still, for a nicer dinner out in the Valley, MAX remains a solid, reliable pick.
