We haven't made it in for a visit yet, so this one's built from what fellow diners and locals are saying — we'll update it with our own take once we've pulled up a chair.

Chef Ian Wingate built Outsider around a wood-fired oven and rotisserie, and his loyal following from his prior restaurant Moxie has followed him here in force. The cacio e pepe and pepperoni pizzas, rotisserie chicken, and a French onion soup regulars call the best in town anchor a warm, open, house-like space built around a central island — casual enough for a quick pizza and a pint, polished enough for the six-course tasting menu on a special night.

A handful of sharply negative reviews mention a confusing menu identity or small portions for the price, and one flagged a serious service complaint — worth knowing, though these read as outliers against an otherwise glowing reputation. Regulars consistently call Wingate one of the best chefs in the Inland Northwest, and it's easy to see why.
