Peacock Room Lounge

The stained-glass ceiling alone is worth the visit, but the food and drinks are spectacular as well. I personally love their handcrafted martinis, and the Prime Rib French Dip is fantastic.

The Peacock Room is the cocktail lounge inside the historic Davenport Hotel, and the ceiling is the first thing you notice: an Art Nouveau stained-glass canopy of more than 5,000 pieces in 21 panels, designed and cut by artist Susan Kim for the hotel's 2002 restoration. The hotel pitches it as Jazz Age glamour and “Spokane's place to see and be seen,” and the drinks are the point — the double martinis are the house calling card, and the Signature Peacock comes as a keepsake cocktail. There's a full dinner menu behind the bar, too, with a prime rib French dip and the same Cougar Gold cheese dip the Palm Court serves.

Seating is first come, first served — no reservations — so on a show night or a weekend it can fill up fast. It keeps late hours, until midnight Sunday through Thursday and 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Even if you only stop in for one drink, the room alone is worth it.
