Safari Room Fresh Grill and Bar
Downtown Spokane · American Grill & Bar, The Davenport Tower
With the safari motif, the Safari Room is always a wild experience — a fun atmosphere in an amazing hotel. I love their Tuna Tataki Bowl with an ice-cold IPA.
The Safari Room is the all-day grill and bar in the Davenport Tower, the safari-themed hotel that opened a block down Post Street from the historic Davenport in January 2007. The theme carries into the dining room, but the menu is straightforward American: flatbreads, a Wagyu cheeseburger, BBQ pulled pork mac and cheese, a pan-seared Northwest salmon, and a Cougar Gold cheese dip. The flatbread with a story is the Farnham — spicy shrimp, tomato, pesto, and mozzarella — named for ESPN college basketball analyst Sean Farnham, who, as the menu tells it, never misses a chance to talk it up.
The kitchen runs from breakfast until late — 11 at night Sunday through Thursday and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays — and happy hour runs every day from 4 to 6, which makes it one of the easier downtown rooms to walk into without a plan.
