Stormin' Norman's Shipfaced Saloon

The epitome of a dive bar, in the best way — a fun, lively staff and crowd, solid drinks, and a good beer selection. Standard bar fare, but they do a pretty good job with it.

Stormin' Norman's is a nautical-themed sports bar on Trent run by Carrie and Norman Thomson, with 20 TVs and two bars actually shaped like boats. It's open from breakfast on, and the kitchen turns out the expected lineup — burgers, a French dip, pizza, pasta — plus Taco Tuesday and a daily happy hour from three to six.

This is a bar first and a kitchen second, so come for the atmosphere and the crowd, not a refined meal — that's the whole point of the place. On those terms, it's a genuinely good time and does the bar-food basics right.
