We haven't made it in for a visit yet, so this one's built from what fellow diners and locals are saying — we'll update it with our own take once we've pulled up a chair.

The Backyard Public House leans into its self-described "five-star dive bar" identity — a big, dog-friendly patio, weekly trivia and live music, and a menu of elevated pub food built around the Backyard Burger, poutine fries, and panko-battered fish and chips. It's genuinely kid-friendly and built for a relaxed weeknight dinner or watching a game with friends, with enough TVs to make it a real sports-bar destination too.

Consistency is the fair critique — fries, drink portions, and nachos have varied noticeably between visits per a few reviews, and pricing has felt a bit high for the portion size on occasion. Still, it's a solid, versatile neighborhood pick, especially for the patio and the trivia crowd.
