I love flavorful food, and Indian food in general — The Mango Tree meets the bill. At first glance I thought the portions looked a little small, but once we got into the meal I realized it was just the presentation. We had plenty of great food and extra to take home.
The Valley restaurant on East Sprague is the one I know, though the Mango Tree has grown to several around the area. The cooking leans on spice as flavor rather than heat for its own sake, and the plating is tidier than Indian food usually gets in this part of the country — which is exactly what threw the portion size at first.
So take the portions on faith. What looks like a modest plate turns into leftovers by the end, and ordering as though you're being short-changed is how you end up with too much food. Order normally, share a couple of things, and it's a genuinely good Indian meal in the Valley.
