Foodie Review
Vien Dong Restaurant
East Spokane · Vietnamese & Chinese, Family-Owned for Decades
We haven't made it in for a visit yet, so this one's built from what fellow diners and locals are saying — we'll update it with our own take once we've pulled up a chair.
Vien Dong is a genuine East Spokane institution — a multi-decade family operation on Trent Ave (relocated from its original Sprague Ave spot) with regulars who've followed the same owners across locations since the 2000s. The pho (beef, brisket, and a well-loved vegan option), banh mi, and chow fun are simple, well-executed, and served in a clean, unpretentious space some reviewers affectionately call "a dive" in the best sense.
Spring rolls get occasional "hit or miss" mentions, and one review noted a watered-down broth on an off day. Otherwise, this is a very affordable, no-frills favorite with a genuinely loyal following.
